Does OHIP cover eye exams?
OHIP covers a yearly eye exam for people aged 19 and under and 65 and over, and for adults with some medical conditions, such as diabetes. Other adults usually pay for the exam or use private insurance. Ask us if you are not sure.
Can I bring my prescription from somewhere else?
Yes. Bring a recent prescription from any eye care provider and we can make your glasses or contact lenses.
How often should my child have an eye exam?
Most eye care providers suggest a first exam around age 3 and then one every year during the school years.
